Mona Cordes is a Berlin-based Fashion Print brand. Designer Cordes graduated with a Masters at Kingston School of Art in 2020. Cordes was based in London for 8 years until 2023.
Her work embodies the physical expressions of multi-coloured kaleidoscopic visions, creating statements through the boldness of colour, print and choice of artistic themes, her aim is to voice political and ecological messages. Cordes offers sustainable gender fluid high-end garments and calls for community coherence. Cordes’ work thrives through storytelling using themes of obscurity and rebellion and an ethos of more is more.

Mona Cordes is a single-person brand with in-house production, Cordes is showcasing her new collection ‘ESPÍRITU FUEGO’ alongside the official Berlin Fashion week calendar, for the second time.
The collection is inspired by what is home and what feels like home. It is giving a statement. It is about being real and about keeping it real. Full power of expression, giving your inner fire to what is important to you personally in our path of life.

‘ESPÍRITU FUEGO’ is not one for hiding. The clothes express fierce with no fear. The Fuego, the fire inside of Cordes self funded collection showcases itself very openly within kaleidoscopic and print heavy garments. More is more.
For Cordes, being a travellar of the world it is very easy to find home in most places. She finds her people, her places through energy, the spirit of each place and its people cultuvating it feels sacred. Where does each of us find fences + where do we find freedom? What colours and what auras make us want to reside in certain places and why do these especially feel like home? What are the indicators to happiness, groundingness and blessings to you? Cordes feels these energies so strongly and emotionally that places and people feel extra special and spiritual and enhancing to growth and inspiration. Cordes travelled Central and South America, partly a research trip for this collection and felt a testament to refelections about the disharmony + harmony to the energy fields of the places and the aura of the people that are cultivating it, and the lamas residing within. They have a very special soothing and observing charater which has inspired this collection highly. Energy fields are strong and hard to describe but feeling them inside can be so potent. A new learning has come out of this trip - reiki, energy healing is a new journey to dulge into for Cordes.

Hoping to open up to more realness, more feeling, more expressing and less to being scared, more to being the fuego inside of yous and to letting it shine through your aura and being.
